Pasadena Fire, Wildfire, Emergency Preparedness and Response Parcel Tax

The City Council voted 7-1 to place a $22.1 million fire parcel tax on the November ballot to fund Fire Department improvements and wildfire preparedness following the Eaton Fire in Altadena and Pasadena. The tax would expire 14 years after enactment unless renewed by voters.

The City Council will decide whether to place a proposed $22.1 million annual Fire Parcel Tax on the November ballot. The tax would levy 19 cents per square foot on improved properties to fund the Fire Department's wildfire and emergency preparedness efforts.
