- Guest post: Climate change has caused one-fifth of Pine Island glacier retreat
A study published in the Cryosphere finds that climate change has caused approximately 4km (one-fifth) of the retreat of the Pine Island glacier in West Antarctica since pre-industrial times. The glacier, alongside the Thwaites glacier, contributes significantly to global sea level rise through melting ice sheets.
