Mexico's health regulator Cofepris identified five beaches with unsafe bacteria levels, including Playa del Cuale in Puerto Vallarta and Main Beach in Puerto Escondido. The findings, part of annual pre-summer monitoring, show 98.3% of beaches met health standards, but elevated enterococci levels at the five sites exceeded World Health Organization thresholds.
