President Murmu

Anantapur is preparing for President Murmu’s visit on July 1. The event highlights the city's readiness for the official visit.

President Murmu will attend the first convocation of Central University of A.P. on July 1. A total of 1,268 students from the 2020-2026 graduating batches will receive degrees, including 480 undergraduates and 788 postgraduates from 23 Indian states.

President Murmu will attend the first convocation of CTUAP, where 373 students will receive degrees and 13 gold medals. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Governor S. Abdul Nazeer are also expected to attend.

PM Modi visited President Murmu’s in-laws’ village to explore tribal traditions and way of life. Modi and Murmu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹47,000 crore, including a coal gasification unit, power projects, and railway infrastructure.

Leaders greeted President Murmu on her 68th birthday on June 20. She is India's first tribal woman President.

President Murmu reviewed the IMA passing out parade, where 515 officer cadets, including 34 from 16 friendly nations, were commissioned. She praised the induction of women cadets as a historic milestone and emphasized the need for adaptive and ethical military leadership.

President Murmu awarded seven Kirti Chakras, including to an IAF pilot and Gaganyatri Prasanth Nair. Navy personnel Dilna K. and Roopa A. received Shaurya Chakras for completing Navika Sagar Parikrama II, while Sepoy Janjal Pravin Prabhakar and Lt. Shashank Tiwari were posthumously conferred Kirti Chakras.
