The Aspen Acres Fire southwest of Pueblo in Colorado has grown to over 35,000 acres, becoming the state's largest wildfire this season. It destroyed more than 155 structures, including residential homes and the historic Horseshoe Lodge, and prompted evacuations in multiple areas. Over 500 ground crews and 10 aircraft are battling the fire amid extreme dry conditions.

Residents of Red Creek Ranches (Pueblo County) and Wetmore (Custer County) are affected, with evacuees potentially increasing demand at the Pueblo County Recreation Center shelter. The fire is expected to take weeks to contain, and the shelter currently hosts about 20 evacuees.
