Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are appealing for public help to identify two men accused of stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Target store. The theft occurred in Westlake Village on Aug. 14, when surveillance cameras captured the suspects entering the store.

Seventeen suspects were arrested during a major retail theft bust that took place in Burbank. The three-day operation targeted the Empire Center shopping plaza from August 11-13. The effort was conducted by the Burbank Police Department and involved collaboration with the Los Angeles Organized Retail Crime Association and the California Highway Patrol Organized Retail Crime.

A woman with a lengthy criminal history was arrested during a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet after an officer noticed her acting suspiciously near Walmart on Pleasant Grove Road. The police confirmed she had a suspended driver’s license and had recently been released on bond for organized retail theft. She now faces additional charges, including retail theft and driving on a suspended license.

Three men were arrested in Nashville over the weekend for allegedly stealing from Home Depot and Lowe’s stores in separate incidents between June and July. The arrests involved stolen merchandise valued between $685 and $1,253, with charges including retail theft, organized retail crime, trespassing, and burglary.

Two teens were arrested following a retail theft in Wailea on July 28, 2026, where they stole luxury items valued at over $80,000.

A 25-year-old bride-to-be, Lenita Joy Moreno, was arrested in Utah for allegedly starting a fire at an LDS church the day before her wedding. Police reported she used stolen lighters from an Ace Hardware store and provided false information, leading to charges of aggravated arson, retail theft, and providing false information to a peace officer. The fire caused an estimated $108,000 in damages.

A woman was arrested in Miami for shoplifting, kicking a police officer, and possessing a cocaine pipe found during a jail booking search. She faces charges including retail theft, battery on a law enforcement officer, and cocaine-related offenses.

An alleged shoplifter was shot and killed after opening fire on officers at a Walmart in Anchorage, Alaska. Three officers were injured, with one shot in the chest (stopped by a vest) and another in the lower body. The suspect had concealed a gun and attempted to flee during an arrest for retail theft.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) seized over $600,000 in stolen Home Depot tools in Southern California, leading to the arrest of two suspects involved in reselling stolen merchandise. The investigation by the CHP Southern Division's Organized Retail Crime Task Force identified the suspects as buyers who later resold the tools.
