The Baltimore Orioles placed closer Ryan Helsley on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort, retroactive to Tuesday. Helsley, who signed a two-year, $28 million deal with Baltimore in December, previously was on the IL from May 1 to June 16 for right elbow inflammation. Manager Craig Albernaz stated Helsley is seeking medical opinions, and the Orioles made roster moves including recalling players from Triple-A.
