The Aquafit initiative in Kerala aims to train 14,000 students in swimming during its first phase. Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen inaugurated the program by the General Education department for schoolchildren.

The Kerala Cabinet subcommittee chaired by Minister N. Samsudheen, including Ministers Roji M. John, P.C. Vishnunadh, and M. Liju, has not yet finalized its report on the PM SHRI scheme. The subcommittee plans to meet one more time to submit the report without delay.

2,914 students dropped out of State syllabus schools in Kerala during 2024-25, with 36.65% being children of migrant workers. The dropouts occurred as families returned to their native states or relocated for work, according to Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen.
