- Man charged with murder in 23-year-old woman’s death
A 30-year-old man, Tawaun Emier Lee, is charged with murder after a 23-year-old woman, Sa’Niya Briana Charise Latimore, was found dead in an apartment in south Charlotte following a reported fight. Police responded to the Scaleybark Road apartment complex last Friday and confirmed Lee was booked into jail. No motive has been released.

- Fire crews tackle early morning blaze in south Charlotte
Charlotte Fire crews responded to a house fire on Clematis Drive in south Charlotte at around 6:15 a.m. on Friday. Thirty firefighters controlled the blaze within 40 minutes, and no injuries were reported. Channel 9 is seeking information from the Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force regarding the fire's cause.
