Southern Corridor

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces stopped four vessels attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz's southern corridor in the last 24 hours, firing warning shots. The IRGC declared the southern corridor an 'unsafe passage' and warned of a 'forceful response' against vessels using 'unsafe routes'.

Oman has proposed a two-corridor navigation scheme in the Strait of Hormuz to manage maritime traffic amid military actions between the US and Iran. The plan includes a Southern Corridor in Omani waters with unrestricted access and a Northern Corridor in Iranian waters requiring authorization from Tehran.
