    Areli Aguirre-Avilez is scheduled for court this week on five counts of first-degree murder and first-degree arson relating to the deaths of three adults and two children.     Taylorsville sergeant charged with failure to report police cruiser accident

    A North Carolina State Highway Patrol sergeant, Carson Fleming, was charged with failure to report a police cruiser accident and making a false report after an incident on Highway 16 South in Taylorsville caused over $1,000 in damage. The police chief stated the officer attempted to report the accident but the charges are due to a procedural misunderstanding regarding reporting requirements.
