- Old-school sirens: A sound of the past now saving lives today
An old-school siren in Gainesboro, part of a 1927 courthouse clock tower, has been restored to service after 50 years of silence. The siren, one of only three of its type in the U.S. and now the only operational one, was repaired by Ethan Leonard and others to enhance severe weather warnings.
