- Israeli army claims ‘operational control’ north of Wadi Saluki
The Israeli army claims to have established 'operational control' over an area north of the Wadi Saluki stream in southern Lebanon, approximately 10km from the Israeli border. It states the area was cleared to counter Hezbollah's use for attacks and to strengthen Israeli positions. The ground offensive has drawn condemnation from Arab and European countries and advanced deeper into Lebanese territory than at any point since Israel's 2000 withdrawal.
