- Englewood Police Department reports drop in physical use of force over last several years
The Englewood Police Department reports a significant decrease in physical use of force, from 0.48% in 2023 to 0.27% in 2024, attributed to de-escalation training, co-responders (mental health professionals), and the Englewood Incident Response Committee (EIRC) for accountability. An officer was fired and criminally charged after an illegal chokehold incident, and car chases increased due to improved technology.
