Strong trade winds and drier air will create an elevated fire risk for leeward locations on Saturday, as warned in the weekend island weather advisory.

Strong thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and heavy rain are expected in South Florida today due to high moisture and heat in the 90s. Rain chances will decrease later in the week as drier air moves in, leading to hotter than average temperatures in the middle 90s.

Rain returns to Southeast Michigan today with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms, followed by drier conditions on Friday. A much warmer and more summer-like pattern arrives over the weekend, with temperatures rising into the low 80s and even hotter, more humid air expected next week.

Most areas in Southern Colorado will remain warm and dry on Monday, though strong thunderstorms are expected to develop on the Raton Mesa during the afternoon and evening. A northwest flow will introduce drier air into the mountains and along the Interstate 25 corridor, limiting moisture.

Drier air is moving into South Florida, providing a temporary break from rain with increased sunshine and warmer temperatures near 90°F by the weekend. A returning front may bring rain by Sunday, while northeast winds with gusts up to 20 mph pose a high risk of rip currents at beaches.

On June 4, scattered thunderstorms and potential flooding are expected in the Florida Keys and Miami-Dade County due to slow-moving storms, with high temperatures in the mid-80s. Showers are predicted to shift south by Saturday, followed by a return of typical rainy season showers by the weekend.
