Record number of US families now have both parents working full time, survey finds

A record 52% of two-parent households with children under 18 in the U.S. now have both parents working full time, up 21 percentage points since 1975. The share of families with only the father employed full time has dropped from 42% to 23%, while 80% of parents cite financial reasons for dual employment. A MoneyLion report notes that $100,000 annual incomes in 12 states now classify households as lower-middle class due to rising costs.
