Kindergartens and local public primary schools experienced significant closures, with 30 preschools shutting down or closing this academic year.

Hong Kong’s biggest international school group, the English Schools Foundation (ESF), will implement a 'through-train' arrangement starting next year, linking kindergartens to primary schools and guaranteeing students a place through secondary graduation. Families applying for a K1 place for the 2027-28 school year will benefit from this new system.
