The Senate adopted recommendations for the FY2026-27 federal budget, including increasing income tax exemption thresholds for low-income earners, reducing electricity tariffs, and expanding social protection programs. These proposals, led by Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue Chairperson Saleem Mandviwalla, will be sent to the National Assembly but are not binding.
