- Jharkhand SIR: Over 43 lakh voters deleted in draft electoral rolls
Over 43 lakh voters were deleted from Jharkhand's draft electoral rolls, including 7 lakh dead voters, 14 lakh untraceable voters, and 15 lakh permanently shifted voters. Around 1.16 lakh voters refused to sign the enumeration form, with the claims and objections phase scheduled from August 5 to September 4.
- Almost 6.4% of voter names deleted in draft lists published for four States and one U.T. undergoing SIR
Almost 6.4% of voter names were deleted in draft lists for four states and one Union Territory undergoing Systematic Internal Review (SIR). In Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, 30% of names were removed due to Block Level Officers (BLOs) failing to trace voters, while Odisha saw a 6% deletion rate attributed to migration.
