Is Europe declining faster than Qing China? A Chinese-French debate

Luis Vassy, director of Sciences Po, sparked a debate comparing Europe's economic decline to the last decades of the Qing dynasty. He noted the EU's share of the world economy fell from 30% to 17% between 2008 and 2025, a period during which China expanded its global economic presence.
