Virginia voter guide: Parties nominate candidates for Congress, local offices ahead of 2026 midterms

Virginia voters are participating in an August primary to nominate candidates for congressional seats and local offices ahead of the 2026 midterms. The primary was delayed from its usual June date due to a Democratic push to redraw congressional maps, which was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court. The 2021 map boundaries will be used for the August primary.
