CMPD reminds teens and parents of curfew rules

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is reminding teens and parents of curfew rules following a shooting at Romare Bearden Park in Uptown Charlotte, which resulted in two people being shot and a 16-year-old Myers Park High School student being charged. CMPD emphasizes strict enforcement of curfew laws, with parents and businesses facing charges for contributing to the delinquency of minors. As the Fourth of July approaches, CMPD’s JADE Unit is visiting past offenders’ homes to warn of increased police presence and safety measures.
