Ex-Dem lawmaker beats Bernie-backed rival for shot at Utah's most competitive House seat

Ben McAdams won the Democratic nomination for Utah's 1st Congressional District, defeating Nate Blouin, who received backing from Sen. Bernie Sanders, and will face Republican Riley Owen in the general election. The primary was one of Utah's most expensive congressional contests, with over $4.6 million spent, and the district was created after court-ordered redistricting to address voting strength concerns in Salt Lake County.
