CBP touts historic milestone, pushes for even larger workforce: 'We aren’t stopping here'
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reached a record 21,471 agents, the largest workforce in its 102-year history, and plans to expand further toward 25,000 agents. The agency cites competitive pay, benefits, and hiring incentives, supported by $64 billion and $26 billion in funding from the Trump administration’s Big Beautiful Bill and recent Department of Homeland Security funding measures.
