CBP touts historic milestone, pushes for even larger workforce: 'We aren’t stopping here'

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reached a historic staffing milestone with 21,471 agents, the most in its 102-year history, and aims to expand further toward 25,000 agents. The agency cited funding from the Trump administration's 'Big Beautiful Bill' and a recent $26 billion allocation for manpower, alongside competitive incentives up to $60,000 to attract recruits, including veterans.
