French soccer player drowns after trying to beat heat

French soccer player Kenzo Kies, 21, drowned in the Rhone River near Lyon while attempting to cool off during a heatwave. He was part of the Guingamp reserve team and had previously been with Lyon and Saint-Etienne youth setups. French authorities reported 40 heat-related drownings since June 18.
