4 Eden Prairie firefighters recognized with national award for saving infant from burning townhome
Four Eden Prairie firefighters were recognized as 'Hometown Heroes' for saving an infant from a burning townhome in 2024. The firefighters entered the home without a hose line, rescued the 9-month-old from a playpen, and the child survived. A suspect, Abdirahman Abdi Abdullahi, was later sentenced to 15 years in prison for arson after setting the fire.
