NC lawmakers consider bill to cut sales tax on certain family essentials
North Carolina lawmakers are considering a bill to exempt tampons, diapers, baby wipes, prenatal vitamins, and over-the-counter medication from sales tax. The House Finance Committee will debate the bill, with the exemption set to take effect on October 1 if passed. Mecklenburg County's sales tax rate is also increasing to 8.25% on Wednesday.
