German shepherd injured in Pembroke Pines animal cruelty case finds new home at local rescue
Nico, a 13-year-old German shepherd injured in a Pembroke Pines animal cruelty case, has been transferred to Healy Pack Senior GSD Sanctuary for hospice care. The transfer followed collaboration between Broward County Animal Care, the sanctuary, and the Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation, with Nico now receiving ongoing veterinary care from a dedicated foster family. Humberto Exposito, charged with animal cruelty for abandoning Nico, has been released on bond with a court order prohibiting him from owning animals.
