A Court Orders Brazil to Fix Its Underfunded Market Watchdog
A Brazilian Supreme Court justice approved a rescue plan for the CVM, Brazil's market regulator, on July 2. The court cited over a decade of underfunding that paralyzed the agency, requiring 70% of its collected fees to be reinvested into the CVM.
