Palatine man charged in fatal I-80 hit-and-run in south suburbs
A 29-year-old Palatine man was charged with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal injury crash after hitting a pedestrian on I-80 in Lansing. The victim, a 23-year-old Carpentersville resident, was changing a tire near Torrence Avenue when struck and pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was arrested two days later and is currently in Cook County jail.
