- Yankees’ Bellinger nears rehab games and Boone hopes Fried setback is minor
Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger is nearing a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton after being on the 10-day injured list since July 26. Meanwhile, Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed hope that Max Fried's second stint on the injured list will be minor. Both players dealt with injuries: Bellinger has a left hamstring strain, and Fried has inflammation from a left elbow bone bruise.
- Rogers sharp again for the Orioles in a 3-1 victory over Washington
Trevor Rogers pitched effectively for the Baltimore Orioles, allowing one run in 6 1/3 innings, and Blaze Alexander hit a two-run single to secure a 3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals. The Nationals have lost four consecutive games.
