The Blockchain Association is backing Custodia’s attempt in the Supreme Court concerning access to Fed master accounts. The industry group stated that this case aims to ensure 'lawful digital asset businesses can compete on equal footing.'

The Blockchain Association responded to claims made by the National Sheriffs' Association regarding legislation, asserting that the legislation would support law enforcement. The exchange occurs during a pivotal week for the Clarity Act.

The National Fraternal Order of Police endorsed the latest draft of the Clarity Act, a crypto market regulation bill, citing provisions to enhance consumer protection and law enforcement capabilities. Other crypto advocacy groups also supported the bill, which includes a ban on officials and their families from issuing or promoting crypto, a measure criticized by some lawmakers.

Top crypto industry groups including the Crypto Council for Innovation, Blockchain Association, and the Digital Chamber sent a letter to Senate leaders urging support for the Clarity Act, a draft bill aiming to establish federal consumer protection for digital assets. The bill, passed by the House but stalled in the Senate, faces opposition from banking chiefs over stablecoin regulations and has seen shifting support from entities like Coinbase and Goldman Sachs.

The three largest U.S. crypto trade associations support H.R. 9175, a bill aiming to defer tax on mining and staking rewards until sale. The bill addresses IRS rules requiring immediate taxation of mined or staked assets, which industry groups argue discourages domestic activity and favors foreign competitors. The legislation allows miners and stakers to choose tax deferral and includes provisions for institutional trust structures.

The Blockchain Association is urging the Senate to pass the Clarity Act, supported by a letter from 160 former security officials. The association is also organizing a virtual town hall to discuss the legislation.

Over 100 crypto firms and industry groups urged the U.S. Senate to advance the Clarity Act, a bill to establish a federal framework for digital assets. They warned that regulatory uncertainty risks pushing innovation offshore, citing the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation as a competitive alternative.
