A fugitive wanted in a 2001 Farmington Hills murder was arrested in Guatemala and extradited to the United States. Edgardo Luis Perez, 44, is charged with felony murder in connection with the death of Gordon Machek, whom he allegedly befriended to steal money before fleeing. Perez was arraigned in Michigan and denied bond.

A Virginia man, Charles Dean Pace, was charged with four counts of second-degree murder and operating while intoxicated causing death after a high-speed crash on I-75 in Oakland County killed four people, including two children. Prosecutors stated Pace had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit and a prior alcohol-related offense.

Bradley Kyle Martin, a 60-year-old man from Dearborn Heights, was arrested for allegedly arranging to meet a minor after communicating with a civilian named Kasper, who posed as a 13-year-old girl. Oakland County authorities charged him with using the internet to commit a crime and accosting a child for immoral purposes. Kasper, who exposes online predators, and Sheriff Mike Bouchard emphasized the importance of parental oversight and collaboration with law enforcement to prevent predatory behavior.

A 75-year-old Army veteran, Lloyd Poole, died months after being severely injured in an alleged assault by a DoorDash driver, Ryan Turner, who reportedly attacked him following a dispute over speeding. Turner has prior legal issues related to road rage, and Poole's family expressed their grief over the senseless loss.
