San Bernardino National Forest

A brush fire in the San Bernardino National Forest near Yucaipa has prompted an evacuation warning for a nearby community, authorities said. The fire is located in the national forest area, leading to the evacuation warning for the surrounding region.

A pair of climbers were rescued in the San Bernardino National Forest after they became stuck on the West Lark route at Tahquitz Rock, near Idyllwild. The Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit, the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team and a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter were called to the rescue at 4:41 a.m. Sunday.

A 10-year-old boy was killed when a CAL FIRE truck collided with a vehicle in the Hemet Valley area while responding to a vegetation fire. Two other people and three firefighters were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to major, and the crash is under investigation.
