All lanes on the Florida Turnpike and Krome Avenue have reopened in West Miami-Dade as crews battle three wildfires. Two fires are largely contained at 97% and 75%, while the third, called the 'correction fire,' remains 0% contained. Brush fires in west Miami-Dade have burned approximately 20,000 acres, leading to ongoing traffic closures on Krome Avenue, Florida’s Turnpike, and parts of the Tamiami Trail. The largest fire, 'Quarry 2,' has scorched 17,600 acres and is 97% contained, while a separate fire near Medley has burned 1,425 acres and is 60% contained. Firefighters and agencies are working to prevent further spread amid challenging weather conditions.

Wildfires in western Miami-Dade have caused road closures on Florida’s Turnpike and Krome Avenue, with over 18,000 acres burned. Fire crews continue to manage hotspots as shifting winds reduce smoke over South Florida.
