Nigeria's private foreign exchange (FX) outflows surged by 165% to $16.3 billion in 2025, compared to $6.14 billion in 2024. In contrast, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-mediated outflows grew modestly by 1.74% to $32.79 billion during the same period. Total FX inflows increased to approximately $109–112 billion in 2025 from about $96 billion previously.
