- Latvia Signs €3.5 Billion EU Defense Loan Agreement Under SAFE Program
Latvia has joined the EU’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) lending programme, signing a €3.5 billion defence loan agreement. The funds will be used for unmanned aerial systems, anti-drone technologies, guided missiles, and expanding national defence industrial capacity.

Hezbollah claims it repelled an Israeli armored and infantry force near Ali al-Tahir Heights in southern Lebanon, destroying three Merkava tanks with guided missiles and using rocket and artillery fire. The group also detonated explosive devices against advancing Israeli armor and targeted a second force attempting to evacuate casualties under smoke cover.
