The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) stated the fighting occurred near Qazqapan, Iran, and described the group as being based in Iraqi Kurdistan and labeled a terrorist organization by Tehran.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have killed five members of the banned Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) in mountainous border areas near Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan province. A separate attack in Kermanshah province killed two IRGC members, claimed by a newly formed Kurdish armed group.
