Iran begins a procession through Tehran for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral
Iran began a funeral procession in Tehran for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose flag-draped coffin and those of his family killed in a February 28 airstrike will be transported to Mehrabad International Airport. The mourning period, which began Saturday, includes threats from mourners to avenge Khamenei's death, with calls for the killing of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. U.S.-Iran negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz and war-ending measures are paused until after the burial.
